Business travel in The Hague: 7 things to check
Last updated: September 11, 2026

On time, a price fixed before the ride and an invoice your finance team can process straight away. That is what sets a taxi apart for business rides.
Short answer
For business travel in The Hague there are seven things to check: punctuality, a price fixed before the ride, a VAT-itemised invoice, the same driver on every ride, a driver who speaks fluent Dutch and English, room enough for luggage, and a clear arrangement for what happens when a ride shifts or a driver falls through. Future Taxi provides a VAT-itemised invoice with every ride and drives on account by arrangement.
1. Being on time is the whole service
For business travel one thing matters above all: reliability. A meeting, a client visit or a flight does not wait, so a driver who is on time is not a luxury but a condition.
So ask not only whether a ride can be scheduled, but how. Does someone set off towards you the moment the ride comes in, or is the time fixed in a schedule? You notice that difference only when it gets busy.
We are at your door five minutes before the agreed time as standard. For a flight we work backwards from your departure time, not from whatever moment happens to suit.
2. A price fixed before the ride
A business ride often has to be approved by someone who is not travelling. That is only possible if the amount is known before the ride.
Every ride with us is calculated upfront using the 2026 meter rate: a €4.31 base fare, €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute, with a €30.00 minimum per ride. You see that amount before you book, calculated on the real pickup and destination address and on the expected driving time at that hour.
To Schiphol a fixed price of €120.00 applies, from anywhere in The Hague and its surroundings and in both directions. If the meter fare for that address works out lower, you pay the lower price. The fixed price is a ceiling, not a surcharge.
3. An invoice your finance team can process
A receipt is not an invoice. For the books it needs the date, pickup address, destination, amount and the VAT itemised separately.
Every ride with Future Taxi is settled including 9% VAT, and business clients get a VAT-itemised invoice. If you ride regularly you can ride on account by arrangement: one invoice a month with every ride listed on its own, instead of loose receipts someone has to sort out afterwards.
4. The same driver, and a name you know
With a dispatch centre or an app someone different drives every time. For a ride from A to B that hardly matters. For a guest who needs collecting at an office where the entrance is not where the navigation puts it, it does.
We drive the rides ourselves, in the same car. What has been explained once does not need explaining again. For recurring rides you fix a set time with a regular driver.
5. Language: Dutch and English
Language is an underrated point: can you simply have a conversation with your driver, or does everything need explaining with hands and feet? With international clients or colleagues it matters whether the driver speaks fluent Dutch and English.
For a guest who has just landed and does not know the city, the driver is the first face of your company. That is not a detail you want to discover on the third ride.
6. What fits in the car
Four passengers and two large suitcases, in a fully electric BYD Seal. Travelling with more people or more luggage? Tell us in advance and we arrange a colleague with a bigger car, rather than your guest standing next to the car at departure.
Driving electric is practical on a business ride too. No engine noise in the background, so taking a call or doing the last bit of preparation works fine on the way.
7. What happens when something goes wrong
Finally the point that only counts the moment it happens: what if your driver is unexpectedly unavailable? At Future Taxi a trusted colleague steps in, driving the same car, so the ride goes ahead as planned.
If the appointment itself shifts, you cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the ride and get everything you paid in advance back in full. If you settle the ride in the car, you have paid nothing upfront and cancelling costs you nothing after that either. We never retain more than you actually paid. If you paid half upfront because we collect you outside The Hague and its surroundings, it is 25% of the fare within 24 hours and the whole ride within 2 hours.
