Why that makes a difference
A dispatch centre cannot promise this. It spreads rides across a pool and does not know who will drive when it accepts the ride. That is not a criticism, it is how a dispatch centre works.
In practice, a regular driver means you explain the address once. That at number 14 the entrance is round the back, that the office barrier only opens after eight, that someone needs a little longer to get in: you do not have to say it again every ride.
Who this is usually for
Recurring rides. A hospital treatment you have to attend every week, a fixed working day at another location, or someone who no longer drives and has the same appointment at the same time.
It also counts for a single ride that must not go wrong: an early flight is the slot where an app taxi cancels most often.
And if I am not there for once
If I am unexpectedly unavailable, a trusted colleague takes over, driving the same car. You do not get a lesser ride, but you do get a different driver. We always let you know as early as possible.
