At Future Taxi there's no difference in amount between a 'fixed price' and the 'meter', only in when you pay. Here's how it works.
Short answer
At Future Taxi there's no difference in amount between a 'fixed price' and the meter fare: every ride is calculated upfront with the same 2026 meter rate (€4.31 base fare, €3.17 per kilometre, €0.52 per minute, €30.00 minimum). To and from Schiphol there is one exception: the price is fixed at €120.00, or the meter fare if that works out lower. Beyond that, the only difference is when you pay: in the car at drop-off, or the whole ride in one go upfront.
How is the price calculated?
Every ride with Future Taxi is calculated using the same 2026 meter rate: a €4.31 base fare, €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute, with a €30.00 minimum fare for short rides. That's not a rough guess added afterwards, we calculate it upfront from your real pickup and drop-off address and live traffic information, so you see the amount before you even book.
One exception: Schiphol
For rides to and from Schiphol a genuinely fixed price does apply: €120.00, from anywhere in The Hague and its surroundings and in both directions. It makes no difference whether you live in the city centre or in Scheveningen, or whether you leave during rush hour.
If the meter fare for your address works out lower than €120.00, you pay that lower price. The fixed price is a ceiling, not a surcharge.
The difference is in when you pay
The difference between a 'fixed price' and the rest isn't in the amount, it's in when you pay. When booking you choose: settle the ride in the car at drop-off, or pay the whole ride in one go upfront at that same calculated price.
Which option fits you?
If you'd rather avoid any surprise afterwards, for a business ride someone else needs to approve, say, or just for peace of mind, paying the full amount upfront is the logical choice. If you'd rather pay only once the ride is done, you simply settle in the car.
Cancelling and VAT
Both options can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance, and both include 9% VAT. Business customers get a VAT-itemised invoice either way.
