Booking a taxi without an app in The Hague: by website, WhatsApp or phone

No app to install, no account, no password. What you fill in, when you see the price, how you pay and how to arrange a ride for someone else.
Short answer
With Future Taxi you book a taxi without an app and without an account. On the website you enter your addresses, date and time, see the price before you confirm and get the confirmation by email. Calling or sending a WhatsApp works too. Online you book rides between 06:00 and 23:55, at least three hours ahead on the same day.
No app, no account, no password
I get this question about once a week, usually on the phone: do I need an app for that? No. You book with us in the browser, on your phone or on a computer, and there is nothing to install. We don't have accounts. You don't create a password and you don't store a bank card.
What we do ask for is three things: your name, your phone number and your email address. The email address is for the confirmation and the reminders. The phone number is for the driver, who calls if he is at the door and can't see you. That is all.
The people who ask this most: people with a full phone, visitors from abroad who don't want to set up an app with payment details for a single ride, and sons and daughters arranging a ride for a parent who doesn't use apps.
What you fill in on the website
The booking form asks for a pickup address and a destination. Pick the pickup address from the list of suggestions that appears under the field. That tells us exactly which address you mean, and without that choice you can't confirm. If someone needs to be picked up or dropped off on the way, you can add up to three stops.
Then you choose the date, the time and the number of passengers, four at most. In the notes field you write what the driver needs to know: a flight number, an extra suitcase, an entrance where the doorbell doesn't work. Booking for work? Enter the company name and it goes on the invoice.
If you need a return ride as well, you add it in the same form. So you enter your details once. After you confirm, the ride is in the schedule.
The price is on the button before you confirm
As soon as the addresses, date and time are filled in, the site calculates the price for your address and the expected travel time at that hour. That amount is shown on the confirm button. So you see what the ride costs before you commit to anything, and without first putting payment details into an app.
The calculation uses our 2026 rate: €4.31 base fare, €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute, with a minimum of €30.00 per ride. For the table below I requested four ordinary city rides from the Google Routes API, for Tuesday 13 October 2026, and priced them with that rate.
What it shows: the two short rides land on the minimum and cost the same in rush hour. On the longer rides the evening rush adds €1.11 to €2.23, because the minutes count. To Schiphol there is nothing to calculate: that is a fixed €120.00 from The Hague and its surroundings, in both directions.
| Ride | Distance | Leaving 10:00 | Leaving 17:00 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loosduinse Hoofdplein to HagaZiekenhuis hospital | 3.2 km | 7 min, €30.00 | 8 min, €30.00 |
| Frederik Hendriklaan to The Hague Central | 4.8 km | 13 min, €30.00 | 15 min, €30.00 |
| Mariahoeve station to HMC Westeinde hospital | 8.0 km | 21 min, €40.77 | 25 min, €43.00 |
| Wassenaar (Langstraat) to The Hague Central | 11.5 km | 22 min, €52.02 | 24 min, €53.13 |
Paying without an app: in the car or upfront
After confirming you choose how to pay. Within The Hague and its surroundings you can settle the ride in the car, at drop-off, by debit or credit card. In that case you pay nothing when booking.
Would you rather have it settled in advance? Then you pay for the whole ride when booking, by iDEAL or card. That is a fixed price: you pay nothing extra afterwards, not for traffic and not for a detour. That is useful when the person in the car is not the person paying.
One exception. If we pick you up outside The Hague and its surroundings, you pay half upfront and the rest in the car, because we drive out to you empty first.
Booking a taxi for your father, mother or a guest
The form has the option 'I am booking for someone else'. Switch it on and you enter the passenger's name, phone number and email address. The reminders 24 hours and 1 hour ahead then go to your guest, and on arrival the driver calls your guest's number. The confirmation and the invoice still go to you.
An example from the table. You live in Utrecht and your mother needs to get from Loosduinse Hoofdplein to the HagaZiekenhuis. You book at home on your laptop, pay the €30.00 upfront by iDEAL, and all your mother has to do is get in. She needs no app, no account and no bank card.
The form also asks for the passenger's email address. If your guest doesn't have one, call or WhatsApp us. Then we arrange it by phone.
Prefer to call or send a WhatsApp
That works too, and you get a person who knows your ride. The number and the WhatsApp button are on the contact page. Put the pickup address, the destination, the date, the time and the number of people in your message, and I won't have to ask anything back.
In three cases calling or messaging is the only route, because the form won't accept the ride. If you want to leave today and the pickup time is within three hours. If you want to be picked up before 06:00 or after 23:55. And if after 23:00 at night you still want to fix a ride for tomorrow morning before 09:00, because that first ride of the morning has usually been planned by then.
I won't promise it always works. There is one car, so it depends on what is already in the schedule. Just ask, you will hear straight away.
What you get after booking
You get a confirmation by email with the details of the ride and a calendar invite attached. One tap puts it in your calendar. A reminder follows a day ahead and an hour ahead.
The confirmation contains a link to cancel. Up to 24 hours before the ride that costs nothing. If you settle in the car you have paid nothing upfront, so cancelling costs you nothing after that either. Do let us know, so someone else can have that time.
When an app is the better choice
Fair is fair: if you want to leave right now, a ride-hailing app is faster. It looks for a car that happens to be nearby at that moment. We fix a time and need at least three hours on the same day. I have put the differences with Uber and Bolt side by side in a separate article.
If you know a day or a few hours ahead, you don't need an app with us and you know who is coming: the same driver in the same electric BYD Seal, with room for four passengers and two large suitcases. How that works if you ride more often is on the page about the regular driver.
Frequently asked questions
Can I book a taxi without an app?
Yes. With Future Taxi you book in the browser on your phone or computer, without installing anything. You enter the addresses, date and time, see the price and confirm. Calling or sending a WhatsApp works too.
Do I need to create an account to book a taxi?
No. There is no account and no password. We only ask for your name, phone number and email address, for the confirmation and so the driver can call you on arrival.
Can I book a taxi for someone else, for example my mother?
Yes. Choose 'I am booking for someone else' in the form and enter the passenger's name, phone number and email address. The reminders go to your guest, the confirmation and the invoice to you. If you pay upfront, your guest has nothing to do on the day.
Can I order a taxi in The Hague by phone or WhatsApp?
Yes. That is also the way for a ride within three hours, a pickup before 06:00 or after 23:55, or an early ride you still want to arrange late at night. Whether it works depends on the schedule: there is one car.
How do I pay if I book without an app?
In the car at drop-off, by debit or credit card, or the whole ride upfront by iDEAL or card at a fixed price. If we pick you up outside The Hague and its surroundings, you pay half upfront.
